"Aunt Jane's Nieces" by L. Frank Baum is a juvenile novel published in 1906 under the pen name "Edith Van Dyne." Three teenage cousins—manipulative Louise, brooding Beth, and spirited Patsy—are summoned to their wealthy, invalid Aunt Jane's estate. Each hopes to inherit her fortune, though their motivations differ sharply. As the girls navigate family tensions, a neglected young man, and their aunt's deteriorating health, their true characters emerge in unexpected ways. (This is an automatically generated summary.)
