Platero y yo

"Platero y yo" by Juan Ramón Jiménez is a poetic work published in 1914 that recreates the life of Platero, a donkey who was the author's inseparable childhood companion in Moguer, Spain. Through brief, lyrical sketches, Jiménez captures impressions, sensations, and memories without following a strict thematic order. Rich in vocabulary and metaphor, the work appears diary-like yet selects stories from real environments and past recollections. Though simple and transparent enough for children's imagination, it contains subtle social criticism and was intended for adult readers. (This is an automatically generated summary.)
