It's Apple Day in Ambleford, and the town's jam competition is at the Blue Cup café. Twelve people bring a jar of jam. The judge, a famous cook from TV, tastes every one. Her favourite is number thirteen. But there are only twelve names in Kate's notebook. So who made the jam? A short, warm mystery in very clear English.
